About

John Kitchener and Patrick Beedle launched Magnetic Productions in October, 2009.

Since then, Magnetic has become one of the fastest-growing TV production companies in the country. We specialize in developing and producing quality programming for national cable networks.

We now have over 70 people working on seven series—with several new series in various stages of development.

Our top-notch team of writers, producers, and editors bring with them years of experience working for a variety of networks, including: Discovery, Travel, History, MTV, TLC, We, Food Network, and, of course, HGTV and DIY.

Our goal is to keep doing creative, high-quality programming that is deeply rewarding—for us, for the networks we serve, and for the viewers who love our shows.

John Kitchener

Executive Producer/President

Before starting Magnetic Productions, John was Executive Producer & Director of Development for Edelman Productions—a Real Screen Global 100 Production Company.

Before that, John was Executive Producer at Broadview Media in Minneapolis. Over the years, John has created and produced programming for HGTV, DIY, Travel Channel, History Channel, and others.

A hard-core traveler, John has bounced across the globe for both work and play—from Afghanistan and the Himalayas to Africa and the Amazon.

In fact, John won a national Emmy for his work as Executive Producer on the Travel Channel series, The Relic Hunter with Ian Grant—a project that took him all over the world.

Patrick Beedle

Director of Production & Business Affairs

Before joining Magnetic Productions, Patrick Beedle was Production Supervisor at Edelman Minneapolis—overseeing staff, budgeting, and workflow across multiple series.

Prior to that, Patrick worked as Production Manager for a number of production companies in Los Angeles.

His wealth of experience in production and post management, budgeting, scheduling, and logistics has made him an invaluable part of Magnetic Productions' success.

Patrick took home an Emmy for his work on The Relic Hunter for Travel. Overseeing production, he ensured that shooting with foreign crews—in some of the most remote corners of the world—came off without a hitch.
